CALL TO ARTISTS – ANNUAL JURIED PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW, February 1 to February 28, 2014
The Lodi Community Art Center (LCAC) invites all interested photographers to participate in our 2nd Annual Photography Show. Submission is open to all artists residing in the United States.
The Show will be juried from an on-line entry system, “SmarterEntry”. Jurors are: Dan Kasser, Larry Angier and Jim Johnson. Awards will be made by viewing accepted works after the art have been received at LCAC. Access to the on-line entry system for the show is via LCAC web site http://www.lodiartcenter.org/.
o This is a call for submission of original works of photographic art including, but not limited to, classic photography and digitally enhanced photography. Work must be completed within the last 24 months.
o A reception for the participating artists will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the LCAC Gallery, 110 West Pine Street, Lodi, CA.
o There will be three award categories; Landscape, Man Made and Faces. Cash awards of $975 ($300 for Best in Show, $100 for 3 first places, and $75 for 3 second places and $50 for 3 third places) and over $4,400 in vendor merchandise and services will be awarded. Awards will be presented at the February 1st Artist Reception. A “Peoples Choice Award” will be identified at the end of the show on February 28 and the winner will receive vendor merchandise as the award.
o All work must be original and suitable for family viewing. The entry fee is 3/$25 and $5 per additional piece. All work will be on display for the duration of the show and must be for sale. Lodi Community Art Center will retain a 35% commission on all works sold. LCAC members will receive a code to use when entering to qualify for a member discount of $5.00.
o All work must be wired, matted, framed and ready to hang. Wire ends must be taped. Longest dimension of each entry must not exceed 30 inches.
o On-line entry begins on September 21, 2013 and ends on December 1, 2013. Notification of jury results will be available on our web site by December 17, 2013. E-mails will also be sent to all entrants. Anyone wishing to provide addressed mailing labels may be included in a mailing promoting the show. Labels must arrive at the Gallery no later than January 10, 2014.
Jury accepted work will be received at the LCAC Gallery between Noon and 5 pm on Friday, January 17, 2014 and Saturday, January 18, 2014 between Noon and 4 pm. Shipped items must have a pre-paid return shipping label and arrive at the LCAC Gallery no later than January 17, 2014. A check of $15 for handling fees must accompany shipped items.
o Any work not sold may be picked up on Saturday, March 1, 2014 during regular gallery hours Noon to 5 pm.
o Any work not picked up then will be stored and available for pickup during regular Gallery hours, Wednesday –Sunday from Noon to 5 pm. Shipped work will be sent back by March 8, 2014. Work not picked up within 60 day will become the property of the LCAC Gallery.
PAYMENT FOR WORKS SOLD:
- For all works sold, checks will be issued and sent during the first week of the following month.
