Tickets Available Online For October 24th Award Show at Tower Theatre

The Fresno Arts Council (FAC) is pleased to announce the winners of the 34th Annual Horizon Awards. Each year, individuals and organizations from Fresno County that exemplify excellence in the arts are publicly nominated for awards in six categories. This year’s winners were selected by an independent committee, and they are:

    • Dr. Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval, PhD, for the President’s Award
    • Tyler Perkins for the Youth Award
    • Amy Morgan for the Artist Award
    • Jim Yovino for the Educator Award
    • San Joaquin Valley Town Hall for the Business Award
    • Anita Shanahan for the Citizen Award

The FAC invites you to join us on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Tower Theatre in Fresno’s historic Tower District to celebrate the achievements and contributions of this year’s winners, featuring a special live performance and keynote from 2018 MacArthur Fellow Vijay Gupta, an acclaimed violinist and founder of Street Symphony, a social justice organization addressing homelessness and incarceration in Los Angeles County. General admission tickets are $25, and includes entry to the reception following the award ceremony. Event begins at 6:00 PM PST. Doors open at 5:00 PM PST.

The Fresno Arts Council (FAC) is a private, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1979 to “enrich people’s lives through the arts” and foster an arts community that recognizes and honors the contributions of its citizens to the arts. The FAC sponsors, promotes and encourages the arts throughout the City and County of Fresno, and acts as the umbrella for artists and arts organizations from all cultures and disciplines through advocacy, education, programs, and services. We are a community benefit organization managed by a volunteer board of directors, and the FAC serves as the local partner to the California Arts Council.
