Call for Artists: 2008 Exhibits at Fresno City Hall Application
The Fresno Arts Council (FAC) is accepting submissions from artists, art groups and art organizations to exhibit at Fresno City Hall from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 exhibition schedule. The time period to exhibit the selected work at City Hall is for one month.
Mail proposals to Fresno Arts Council, 1245 Van Ness, Fresno, CA 93721. The deadline for submissions is Monday, September 17, 2007, at 4:30 p.m. Applicants will be notified by Monday, October 15, 2007.
Submissions MUST include the following:
- Letter of Intent: requesting consideration (no more than one page). Also include the following information: name, address, telephone numbers (home, work, cell), and e-mail and website addresses (if applicable).
- Description of art work: media, style, dimensions and general subject matter (no more than two paragraphs).
- Artist Resume: detailing previous exhibitions. (Art groups/organizations should supply a detailed background description of organization and the resume of one contact person.)
- Ten to fifteen slides, photographs or color laser copies of work to be considered for exhibition. (For art group and art organization exhibits, one example of work from each artist is required.)
- Enclose a stamped self-addressed large envelope, in order to return your materials, or they become the property of FAC.
Open Entry: All working artists, art groups and art organizations are eligible to enter (with preference given to artists of local or regional residence). The letter of intent and supporting materials will be reviewed by the Exhibit in Public Places Review Panel. The decisions of the Panel and FAC are final.
The results will be sent via e-mail and all the accepted applicants will receive a letter of acceptance and an agreement to be signed and returned within 30 days. If not received within 30 days, it will be assumed that you are no longer interested and another proposal will be selected.
