On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Fresno Arts Council, we would like to invite you to the regional Poetry Out Loud competition on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor of the Fresno City Hall. Roosevelt and Edison high school students will compete and a winner will be chosen to compete in the state Poetry Out Loud competition held in Sacramento on March 14, 2008. The California winner will receive $200 and will compete in the National Poetry Out Loud Recitation Competition in Washington, D.C with all expenses paid. The national winner is awarded a $20,000 scholarship.
