Micha Langer Exhibit

Micha Langer Exhibit May 1st thru the 30th

Capturing the Faces of 21 Local Artists

The Fresno Arts Council announces Micha Langer’s exhibit on the second floor at Fresno City Hall 2600 Fresno Street Fresno, CA 93721 in downtown Fresno from May 1st thru the 30th.  Fresno City Hall is a choice venue that offers a non-traditional place for community members to experience the arts reaching a broad cross section of the community.  The exhibit is intended to stimulate the community’s interest in local artists, their works and the history of Fresno’s art movement.

Visual arts, literature, and music are a vital part of our community’s culture, yet many notable local artists that have consistently created great artworks have never been seen or heard of locally.  Micha Langer has captured the faces of a group of twenty-one diverse artists of the Fresno area.  The artists featured include: Stan Bitters, Joyce Aiken, John Sierra, Robert Ogata, Chris Sorenson, Mary Maughelli, Corky Normart, Nancy Youdelman, Kathy Wosika, Steve Dzerigian, Ernie Palomino, Glen Delpit, EZ Smith, Richard Silva, Dixie Salazar, Tomas W. Ellis, Pete Everwine, Maxine Olson, Howard Statham, Chuck Hanzlicek, and Phil Levine.

Micha recognizes that this  exhibition just begins to touch on the wealth of talent found in Fresno and considers this to be only the first photo essay that chronicles community artists.  .  Many of those selected have decades of experience and represent various disciplines.  Joining Micha on this project are several students from California State University Fresno who have interviewed the artists and have prepared a brief biography of each to be included with the portraits.
