Opportunities for Artists to Exhibit at Public Libraries

The Central Branch of the Fresno County Public Library, downtown, has display cases in the entrance foyer for exhibiting literature and artifacts of interest to our public, usually exhibited with books from the library’s collection on the topics of the displays that exhibitors bring. Display cases reservations are open to art work during 2017.
Exhibits are kept on display for one month each. The display cases are eight feet wide, four feet high, and two feet deep. There is room for small sculpture but two-dimensional hangings are also good displays. The surfaces are of cork board covered with paper, capable of holding pins. The cases’ plate glass fronts are kept locked. The library neither charges a fee to display exhibits, nor pays exhibitors for displays. Library policies on art exhibits specify that art is not to be displayed with prices, but contact information may be listed for contacts about sales or rental.
All the remaining months of 2016 for the Central Branch display cases have been claimed; the months of 2017 are nearly all open for scheduling exhibits.
