Kepler Neighborhood School seeks a muralist! An 8th grade class at Kepler Neighborhood School needs a muralist to help with a project. The mural will go in space about 8’ by 4’ in the front of their new (refurbished) building at Stanislaus and Broadway. This is a civic education project, with the message of celebrating diversity and equality. We have a grant to pay an artist $600 plus $200 for materials. Students could raise more if needed. The California Civil Liberties program The California Civil Liberties Public Education Program is a competitive grant program for nonprofits and units of state and local government involved in various civic, educational and artistic projects for the public on the subject of civil liberties. Funded projects will provide the public with information and comparisons to the civil-liberty violations experienced by Japanese Americans during WWII. In collaboration with the Open Space and Trails Advisory Committee, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, city staff and the design team, the Broomfield Public Art Committee (PAC) seeks to commission an artist or team of artists to create artistic screening for the Xcel Energy facilities at the McKay/Lambertson Open Lands site. PAC will choose artists as semifinalists to provide refined concepts, and work plans as requested, as well as present to the Public Art Committee on May 10, 2017.
